For many people a regular Sauna bath leaves them with a general feeling of relaxation and well being with a consequent reduction in perceived stress levels. Opening and closing pores of the pores of the skin together with the action of frequent showering ensure a very thorough cleansing regime and can help to provide healthy skin.
In a Sauna the temperature levels are far in excess of those usually experienced and humidity levels are much lower than normally experienced. The combined effect provides a bearable, hot bathing experience to promote sweating, thereby helping to deep cleanse the skin whilst promoting the general feeling of relaxation. Perspiration will cause temporary weight loss, which varies from individual to individual. However this is due to loss of body fluids and as soon as these are replenished the weight is regained. During the process the body temperature and blood pressure rises. Hence the reason why individuals with higher than normal blood pressure and heart problems should not use the sauna.
